I am a novice filmmaker at best. I just purchased the Canon 1D MKIV to start making films and shooting stills.

I just opened the Canon 1D and took it with me as I went to visit my mom. I basically just put in Manual Mode and played around with the settings… I used the mic off the camera, etc. (lesson learned, use external mic)

My mom and her house are great “subjects”.
