A short film by Jim Bruno.
For more information, see www.jimbruno.com and www.filmiclanguage.com.
Filmed, edited, and color grading by Jim Bruno.
Final grading, post-production, and up-res from Canon 7D 720p @ 60 FPS to 1080p in April 2011.
The short film features the talented and classically beautiful model/actress, Ashley Whelan.
Enrico Caruso sings ‘Crucifixus’ from Gioacchino Rossini’s ‘Messe Solennelle’ for Victor Records at Trinity Church in Camden, New Jersey on September 16, 1920. This recording is the very last recording Caruso made in his life. He died 10 months later, on August 2nd, 1921, at the age of 48.
From Rossini’s score:
“crucifixus
crucifixus
etiam pro nobis
etiam pro nobis
sub Pontio Pilato
sub Pontio Pilato
passus
passus
et sepultus est
passus
passus
et sepultus est”
A hearty thank you to Director/Photographer Andrew Shapter for inviting me to take part in this small project as second cameraman. Thanks also to Tanner Ferguson for his assistance, especially with my equipment and failing battery.
Shot using a Canon 7D in Native 60 FPS at 720p.
Up-Res-ed to 1080p with final grading/post-processing in April 2011.
Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.
Color grading in Red Giant Software Magic Bullet Colorista 2, Looks, and Adobe AfterEffects.
Brilliant lights. Shining bright.
Though I’m both a 5dmkII and 7d shooter/user, this one was shot on the 7d at 720p/60 FPS because I’d planned to play with the timing a bit. I’ve worked hard in grading/post on this, especially in its up-res to 1080p.
