    Nice work!!

I’m looking at getting a 7D in the next week or two and I’ve recently played around with time lapse. Obviously a key to successful time lapse is some type of motion. Primarily what I’m interested in is scenes just like yours as I’m an avid outdoorsmen and camp up to 70 nights a year.

So the question is…How does the D7 handle the internal processing? Let me explain a bit. I have an old XTi and if I’m shooting 30 second intervals with an exsposure of 20 seconds, the XTi can’t handle it due to the camera taking an additional 20 seconds to process internally, therefore the camera’s not ready for another exsposure until 40 seconds after the previous exsposure begins. Is this a problem with the D7? Or is there some way to bypass that additional time?

Kevin, I’m not familiar with any delay on the Xti, but I do know the 7D doesn’t have any problems with the scenario you propose

Hey Kevin, you have noise reduction enabled on the xti. If you disable the noise reduction, you will be able to take your shots almost consecutively. Most if not all cameras suffer the same delay if internal noise reduction is enabled.
