We’ve been to Kyoto many times before and always wanted to capture the beauty of its zen atmosphere. We made this film over 4 days in Kyoto and its surrounding areas in Nara, Osaka, and Mount Koya. Although we were there during the cold winter, the snow was beautiful on Mount Koya. We made sure to include some of our favorite spots in the video like the bamboo forest in Arashiyama, the torii gates at Fushimi Inari, the Golden Pavilion, geisha in the Gion district, Higashiyama and Kiyomizu temple, and the unique deer park of Nara.

On the technical side, we shot with a Canon 5D Mark II and Sony A65. The 5D was mounted on a Glidecam HD-2000 with the Nikon 24mm f/1.4G lens for the flying shots. The Sony A65 was shot with the Zeiss 24mm f/2 and Zeiss 85mm f/1.4 lenses. Edited in Adobe Premiere.
